Saturday Night Sleepover and Mothers Day

I'm a Jedi!

Saturday after Mari's shower, we had a cookout and a slumber party! Okay, not everybody, but Ty & Amanda and the girls, along with Richie, as well as Robbie who just moved home for the next month were here. Daren went to SLC with some friends and Zac who just moved to Murray were the only ones of our family that weren't here. Mari stayed for dinner before she had to head back to Logan for the night. Before bed, Emorie took a bubble bath in Grandpa's tub. She wasn't so sure about it at first, but eventually warmed up to it. Then when she got out, she was a Jedi. That's Ty trick way of getting her out of the tub with lots of tears!

Eva was also so very cute in her jammies before bed. She was a little stuffed up, but always had a smile even when she was miserable. The only time she got really mad was when someone wiped her nose!

I love these girls so much! It was a special Mother's Day treat to have them stay over night. We finished up the weekend in Preston for my nephew Luke's missionary talk. He leaves on the 19th for Guam. It was so great to have 3 of our boys there along with Amanda, Emorie, Eva and Mari. The weather was gorgeous and it was so much fun to be together with so many of my siblings and their kids. They're growing up and I have to say, it's a lot more fun being a grandma at the family parties. My sister and I love watching our children be parents and remembering the years we were in their shoes!

Mari's Shower

This weekend I celebrated Mother's Day with lots of fun family activities. Saturday afternoon Amanda and I had a shower for Mari. We had lots of good food and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Mari's Aunt Julie and cousin Anna drove up from Pleasant Grove, her mom came from Afton, and her sister from Logan so we even had the chance to spend more time with Mari's family. They are great people and we feel so blessed to welcome them into our family! I didn't even remember to get out my camera, duh!, but Mari's mom did send me a couple of cute pictures that I'll post. Now that we're done I've thought of about 20 people I forgot to invite, but I appreciate all those who were able to come and welcome Mari. Everyone was so generous and kind and it was a great afternoon!

Robbie's Engaged!

It's official! Thanks to Robbie we are adding another girl to the family! Her name is Mari Miles and she is from Afton, WY. She is an Elementary Ed major at USU. They first met at the Kater Shop when Robbie helped she and her parents pick out a suit for her younger brother. But it took my brother Chris who lives in Afton, her mom who works at Osmond Elementary and sees Chris on a regular basis and me to get them together! Actually, we just shared her phone number with Robbie. From Michelle, to Chris, to me, to Robbie, and wah lah! She's a great girl and they are crazy about each other! The wedding is on June 8th in the Logan Temple. Amanda, Emorie, Eva and I are very excited to welcome her to the family!

Ty, Amanda, Emorie & Eva

I can't believe how long it's been since my last post! Eva is almost four months old! She and Emmy are so adorable and I miss them a ton! I am glad that they and their parents are all doing so well. I'm so proud of Ty and Amanda! They are awesome parents and great people. It's not easy keeping up with two little ones, or supporting a family while working on projects around the house, but they both do a great job! I look forward to more amazing girls joining our family. They have a great example to follow. Amanda is an incredible daughter-in-law and I love her so much! She is so supportive of Ty and such a great mother. It's always fun to see Emmy and find out what new things she has learned. Ty is having a great first year of teaching. I always knew he would be a great teacher, and he hasn't disappointed me! Plus he's such a great husband and father. He is so considerate of Amanda and has so much fun with his girls. I love he and Emmy doing General Larry Platt's "pants on the ground" Too funny!! Eva is so sweet and adorable! I could sit and hold her all day! Anyway, just the rantings of a proud mother and grandma!

Martin's Cove

In July our stake had a youth conference at Martin's Cove in Wyoming. This was mine and Ted's third trip to the cove. The first time I was serving as our ward Young Women president and we were an Aunt & Uncle. The second trip we were called to be a Ma & Pa, and this time we were on the stake planning committee. I worked with the youth committee as well as directing a youth choir. I loved working with the choir as well as the committee. We have some amazing kids in our stake. Ted worked with the quartermaster committee with the special assignment of garbage collection. The bags of trash were loaded into his trailer and when we got home we took it to the landfill. Everyone that was involved with the planning did such a great job. It went really smoothly and the Spirit was so strong! Ted and I were an Aunt & Uncle again and had an awesome family. Each time I have an opportunity to focus on the pioneers I am so awed by their committment and strength. Their challenges were different than ours, but both of us have to be strong and dedicated. I know that when I apply myself to trying to be the best I can, I am so blessed! Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to go back again someday!

Bear Lake Family Reunion

It's hard to believe that it's already fall! It seems like only yesterday that we were busy planning our family vacation to Hawaii, our stake pioneer trek to Martin's Cove and the Abrams Family Reunion at Bear Lake We had 125 family members there from the Abrams side and not everyone was there!! I've posted a few pictures from the day at the lake. We had an awesome time. All in all, it was a great summer! I'm so glad I have time off from work in the summer. I love having a chance to relax and just do different things.
